Proposed Public Events that Create Awareness of Available Technologies and Financial Incentives to Inspire the Private Sector to Scale up Climate Action

Senior officials from both the Alberta and Federal governments support and speak at public events that create awareness of technologies and financial incentives to inspire the private sector to scale up climate action.  This can include:

a) A webinar about Green Bonds 101 and Scaling Up Clean Tech

b) A webinar about advances in carbon-related technologies (Carbon Tech) that can be scaled up quickly including:

i) State-of-the-art carbon capture technologies by the Global CCS Institute: State-of-the-Art: CCS Technologies 2023

ii) Example proven technologies that produce hydrogen from natural gas and carbon black (Turquoise Hydrogen) such as Ekona Power and C-Zero.

iii) Example proven technologies that convert carbon emissions to useful products.

iv) Highlighting how large the innovation system is in Canada by showing CRIN’s Canada’s Oil & Gas Innovation Ecosystem Map (2022).

c) A webinar about “Combining Complementary Technologies to Maximize Climate Impact in a Sustainable and Profitable Way”.  This can include these topics:

i) Generating Reliable Power and Renewable Methanol With Negative Carbon Emissions from Biomass and Natural Gas.

i) Generating Reliable Power and Renewable Methanol With Negative Carbon Emissions from Biomass, Wind and Solar

iii) Agrivoltaics: Combining Solar Panels with Farming

To maximize viewership of these events, they can be organized and hosted by multiple organizations that support the development and implementation of technologies for climate action in Canada: Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN), Innovate Calgary, Canada Clean Tech Alliance, Carbon Management Canada (CMC), and Climate Solutions Advancement Network (ClimateSAN).
