Conference Summary: Impacts of Climate Change on Human Security: What Can Be Done?
A Conference about Climate, Security, Solutions and Finance (CSSF) Hosted on May 18th & 19th, 2021

Climate Solutions Advancement Network (ClimateSAN) is working to build broad-based support for very large-scale action on climate change.  In order to do so, it is focused on three main areas.  The first area to explain the current warming trend that we are on.  The second area, as advocated by Prof. Michael Klare, is to create awareness of how security experts can help “bridge the gap between believers and doubters” on the need for action on climate change on a sufficiently large-scale.  Thirdly, is to highlight how civil society can help develop strategies that will enable everyone to benefit from implementing this scale of action.

As part of its work to build this support, ClimateSAN hosted a conference about climate, security, solutions and finance in conjunction with the NATO Association of Canada and the Modern War Insititute at West Point on May 18th & 19th, 2021.  This conference was called “Impacts of Climate Change on Human Security: What Can Be Done?”.  The detailed agenda along with links to related reports for this conference can be viewed at this LINK.  To view video recordings of sessions, click on images or links below:
